Cake Serving Guide
This serving guide is provided as a reference, and is not a guarantee of servings you will get. The number of servings your cake yields depends on how you cut the cake. Please see our Cake Cutting Guide for more information on how to cut cakes of each shape to yield the desired number of servings. If you plan to cut larger slices than those listed below, please adjust your number of servings accordingly when selecting a cake size.
Party servings and wedding servings are sized differently. A typical "Party Serving" is about 1.5" x 2 ". A typical "Wedding Cake Serving" is about 1" x 2". Notice that a cake is measured by width and length only. Because it is cut only by width and length, the height is not taken into account when talking about the number of servings. For example, a 6" cake that is 4" tall would yield the same number of servings as a 6" cake that is 7" tall.
-Where do I pick up my cake?
Because we are not a storefront bakery, we offer two convenient locations in Bend for you to choose from.
Cake Refrigeration
-How far in advance should I take my cake out of the refrigerator?
About 2 hours. Cakes are best served at room temperature, but should be stored in the refrigerator until a few hours prior to serving. Our cakes are iced with buttercream frosting, which utilizes real butter. We believe that you can't replace the flavor of real, quality buttercream! Removing your cake from refrigeration about 2 hours prior to serving allows the cake to soften, the butter in the icing to come to room temperature and be ready to cut and enjoy.
** If your venue is warm, or in direct sunlight, please take extra caution! Keep your cake out of the direct sunlight and hot weather. Butter has a melting point of 87 degrees. Having cakes in hot weather for extended times will compromise the integrity of the cake and can result in melting. If you are serving outside, please keep the cake under refrigeration until closer to serving time.
- How do I transport my cake?
Keep your cake level at all times when carrying, and always carry cakes from the bottom. During transport, keep your car air conditioned and avoid placing the cake in direct sunlight. Make sure you have a flat surface in your car to set your cake on. We do not recommend transporting cakes on car seats or someone's lap. Look for things that may fall on top of it while stopping or turning and do your best to avoid sudden changes in speed and sharp turns. Once your cake arrives home, store it in the refrigerator until 2-3 hours before serving.
-Are you able to provide an exact copy of a picture I've found?
No, we are not able to create exact copies of another cake or confection. We work hard to produce custom creations, and know other artists do too. We respect the work of other bakers/artists and will not replicate their designs exactly. We are happy to work with you to bring your dream creations to fruition, and every custom cake will be created especially for you.
